Lemongrass has been used in cooking and herbal medicine for at least five thousand years. It was used by locals in India for a variety of medical issues. The plant has deep historical roots in Asian and African cultures as well. Lemongrass has been cultivated in Southeast Asia for the past two thousand years. History shows that in East India and Sri Lanka, lemongrass was combined with other herbs to make a drink locally known as fever tea. The natives would use this beverage to treat fever, irregular menstruation, diarrhoea, stomach aches and to treat fungal infections of the skin. They also make a potent solution to fight pest, especially mosquitoes. We offer 100% pure and natural oil distilled from lemongrass leaves grown and harvested from The Nilgiris.
Aromatically – You can diffuse the oil in your home just like a candle using a diffuser. To make a natural room freshener, put a few drops of oil along with water into a spritzer bottle. You can also inhale the oil directly by sniffing it.
Topically – Before applying lemongrass oil to you skin, it should be diluted with a carrier oil, like coconut oil. Rub the mixture into your skim or spray some on your clothes. You can also add a few drops of lemongrass oil to your bath, shampoo, soap or body wash.
